Which home sauna is right for you depends less on the brand and more on three questions: can you add a 240V circuit, does it go inside or out, and do you want hot steamy air or gentler infrared heat.
For classic hot sauna with the heater included, the Almost Heaven Hillsboro 2 (from $5,299), if you can add a 240V circuit. For no rewiring at all, an infrared cabin like the JNH Lifestyles Tosi 2 (cedar) that plugs into a normal outlet. Our picks for each situation are below.
We haven't sat in these saunas. Picks are based on published specs, what's included in the price, warranty length and what it takes to install. If a brand says something we couldn't confirm, we say so.
From $5,299
6 kW Harvia heater included
A 6 kW Harvia heater is in the price, the warranty on the sauna is limited lifetime, and it reaches 185°F. Budget an electrician: it needs a hardwired 240V / 30A circuit.

This decides more than any spec sheet. Here's what each sauna needs, from easiest to hardest:
JNH Lifestyles Tosi 2 (cedar), Dynamic Barcelona, SaunaSpace FireLight (Classic), Finnleo Hallmark HM44, Clearlight Sanctuary 1, Clearlight Premier IS-2, JNH Lifestyles Joyous 1, Peak Saunas Shasta, Health Mate Enrich 2.
Two straight slots. Most homes can run these without new wiring.
Sunlighten mPulse Believe, Sunlighten Amplify II, Clearlight Sanctuary 2, Sun Home Solstice 2, Peak Saunas Everest 2, Maxxus Trinity 3 (dual tech), Maxxus 4-person hemlock (MX-K406), Health Mate Inspire 3, Sun Home Solstice 1.
One slot is T-shaped (NEMA 5-20). A normal 15A outlet won't take the plug; you may need an electrician to add one.
Almost Heaven Hillsboro 2, Sunray Galaxie 400LX, Almost Heaven Watoga barrel, Redwood Outdoors Barrel, 6 person, Redwood Outdoors Cabin, 4 person, Peak Saunas Patagonia 2 (outdoor), Clearlight Sanctuary C (4-person corner), Peak Saunas Matterhorn, Sun Home Solstice 4, Almost Heaven Salem barrel, Almost Heaven Pinnacle barrel, Almost Heaven Blackwater mini-cube, Almost Heaven Allegheny cabin, Redwood Outdoors Duo, Redwood Outdoors Summit, Dundalk Tranquility barrel, SaunaLife G2 garden cabin, Sun Home Luminar 2 (outdoor), Peak Saunas El Capitan 4 (outdoor), Almost Heaven Logan 1, Almost Heaven Madison 2–3, Almost Heaven Sanctum 6 (Costco), Sunray Aston 200TN, Sunray 200SN 2-person, Sunray Tiburon 400SN, Aleko Hemlock 4-person (STHE4BLK), Golden Designs Osla 6, Golden Designs Forssa 3–4.

Saunas without a public price aren't in this table. Electrical: 240V circuit $250–$900, dedicated 20A outlet $200–$600, running power out to the yard $800–$3,500 in all, plus a typical $75–$200 permit. Base: gravel at $1–$3 per sq ft up to a concrete slab at $6–$12 per sq ft for a 10×10 area. Work it out for your home. Electricity is an upper bound: rated heater watts × 1.33 h (traditional, incl. warm-up) or 0.75 h (infrared) × 18.16¢/kWh.

Several brands show a crossed-out price far above what they actually charge. Peak Saunas lists its Everest 2 at $7,950 against a "compare at" price of $13,532. JNH was selling the Tosi 2 at $2,599, half its $5,199 list price, as an "early Black Friday" deal. Compare the price you'd actually pay, not the discount.
Warranties range from 1 year (Redwood Outdoors, on the sauna itself) to lifetime (Clearlight; Almost Heaven's is a limited lifetime on manufacturing defects). Some listings contradict themselves: Sun Home's spec block says 7 years while its banners say "Limited Lifetime", and JNH's feature list says "up to 5 years" when 2 are included. Ask for the warranty in writing.
It depends on your wiring more than anything. If you can't add a 240V circuit, look at infrared saunas or the Finnleo Hallmark HM44, which plug into a 120V outlet. If you can, a traditional sauna with the heater included, like the Almost Heaven Hillsboro (from $5,299), gives you real high heat and steam.
Add three things to the sticker price: electrical work ($250–$900 for a 240V circuit, $200–$600 for a dedicated 20A outlet, more if power has to run out to the yard, plus a $75–$200 permit), a base if it goes outside ($100–$1,200), and electricity (roughly $20–$285 a year at three sessions a week). Our cost calculator adds it up for your home.
Most do. The 6 kW traditional heaters on most saunas here need a hardwired 240V circuit. Most 2-person infrared cabins need a dedicated 120V / 20A outlet. A few, like the JNH Tosi 2 and Dynamic Barcelona, run on a standard 15A outlet.
At 18.16¢ per kWh (US average), a 6 kW traditional heater costs up to about $1.45 a session including warm-up, and a 2 kW infrared cabin about $0.27. Those are upper bounds; heaters cycle off once hot.
Each opened on 2 November 2026. Prices change often, especially around sales.
